Who We Are
The company began in 1962 when James E. Dora, Sr. opened the first of his many Holiday Inn franchises in Indiana. Through the years his hotels garnered numerous design and service excellence awards. Decades later, and beyond his passing, Mr. Dora Sr.'s core values of integrity, respect, excellence, civic leadership and gracious spirit of hospitality continue to serve as the organization's guiding principles.
Today General Hotels Corporation is one of the largest hotel management and development companies headquartered in the Midwest. GHC operates under a broad range of franchises and management agreements through full service and revenue management only services.
